PET ROCK

‘Pet Rock’ is the brainchild of photographer Peter Sharp and is a series of images created when his three areas of passion come together: photography, music and animals.

This project photographs animals as rock stars. When photographing live music, the photographer looks to capture the energy, colour and vibrancy that is distinctive in each live music performance. This project seeks to emulate this and apply it to animals, showcasing their unique personalities.

To complement the photographs, we ask the owner of each pet to provide the name of a song and some lyrics that epitomises the personality of their 'fur baby’. The project has continued to evolve and now owners are also asked to interview their pet with a series of questions. What results is a wonderful insight into the personalities and stories of both the pets and their owners.

‘Pet Rock’ is a tribute to the awesome pets that are owned and loved by so many.
