Where is Tame & Wild Studio located?

Our purpose-built studio is located at 105 Prahran Avenue, Davidson in NSW, (near Belrose and Frenchs Forest) a short 25 minute drive north of Sydney’s CBD with plenty of parking.

Do you just take photos of dogs and cats?

We love working with ALL animals from turtles to rabbits, insects, birds, fish, frogs, spiders, chickens, roosters, even snakes.

We take great pleasure in capturing the personality of your beloved pet.

Do I need to book?

Yes, you do. The studio is open by appointment only.

We love hearing all about your pet as it helps me work out the best way to bring out your pet’s personality and create amazing artwork for your home.

How much is a Pet Portrait Experience?

A Tame & Wild Studio Pet Portrait Experience for up to two pets from one household is $195, and it includes a matted 6×8″ print (valued at $145). We are happy to photograph more than one pet at a session for an additional charge of $50 per pet.

We always share the product range and price list with you upfront.

When is the Studio open?

The Studio is open Tuesday – Saturday with sessions held between 10am- 7pm.

Every pet is different and we want to work with you to arrange a time that best suits your pet.

Please note that it can take between 2-4 weeks to get an appointment.

Do you take emergency bookings?

We understand that sometimes having a lasting memory of your pet can be urgent – please call the Studio on +61 2 8206 9182 to discuss your request.

We will always try to accommodate these requests but please note that there may be an additional charge for an out-of-hours Studio Session.

What does a Studio Photography Session involve?

Our purpose-built Studio is set up with professional studio lighting and camera equipment to capture Tame & Wild’s unique pet portraits. Because your pet is comfortable and familiar with you, we ask that you are present and participate in the photography session.

Do we photograph ‘on location’?

We have a purpose-built Studio, which provides a safe and professional environment. This ensures your pet will be captured in Tame & Wild’s signature style.

That said, we have worked with pets who have disabilities in the past, and understand that transportation to our Studio isn’t always a viable option for some pets. If this applies to you, please feel free to contact us to discuss how we can work together to meet your needs.

What do I need to bring?

We have a range of toys in the Studio so it is not a requirement that you bring anything along for the photoshoot.

That said, our goal is to make the session fun for both you and your pet. As such, we encourage you to consider what is special to your pet and bring it along. For example, some of your pet’s favourite toys or something that is significant to both you and your pet such as their favourite bed or the special something they may have destroyed when they were young.

If you are looking for a creative/themed photo, this is something we are happy to accommodate – we ask that you discuss that with us when making your booking.

How long will my Studio Photography Session take?

A typical Studio Session will take about an hour.

We don’t force pets to do things, which means that we work at a pace that suits your pet. Our sessions are a fun experience for you and your pet, and we allow plenty of time for animals who may be nervous or shy.

What happens if my pet is uncooperative during the Studio Photography Session?

We are experts at working with animals and as such employ a range of strategies to help keep your pet relaxed.

We know that most animals do not sit still which is why we are skilled at working with all types of pets and personality traits.

The key to a successful photography session is patience and this is something we have a LOT off.

How long after my Studio Photography Session can I view the images?

Your Viewing & Purchasing appointment is booked for one to two weeks after the Studio Photography Session.

What is the Viewing & Purchasing appointment?

This is when you get to view the images captured during your Studio Photography Session, and it is also the time when you select your favourite images and place your artwork order.

We ask that you allow for up to an hour.

We recommend that you consider and measure the wall spaces where you would hang your pets images, as this allows us to create artwork to suit the space.

Who should attend the Studio Photography and Viewing & Purchasing Sessions?

It is important that all the decision-makers are at the Viewing and Purchasing Session, as this is where you will be choosing your favourite images and deciding on how to best display these in your home.

If a second Viewing & Purchasing Session is required, there may be an extra fee.

Do we provide digital copies of the images captured?

We specialise in creating beautifully finished artwork from the images you choose and as such, do not offer a ‘digital only’ service.  We do however, offer digital negative packages that include high-resolution digital files included with small reference prints which can also be displayed in your home.

How can I pay for my artwork?

Direct deposit or cash is our preferred payment method but we are also able to accept payment via ApplePay, GooglePay, Visa, Mastercard, and AMEX Credit/Debit cards.

We offer two payment options:

FULL UPFRONT PAYMENT – pay in full on the day of the Viewing & Purchasing Session;

INTEREST FREE PAYMENT PLANS – our no wait ‘Enjoy Now, Pay Later’ interest-free finance system with PayRight. This allows you to collect your order and enjoy your artwork as soon as they are printed. Pay just 10% deposit at your viewing and choose how much and how often you make your repayments. The simple sign-up process is completed at your session. Payments are interest-free with a low monthly fee. (A valid Drivers Licence and a Debit, Visa, or Mastercard is required). Alternatively, we also offer a lay-by interest-free payment plan through Pay Advantage.

How much do I have to spend?

We are specialists in creating beautifully finished works that will show off your beloved pet’s personality.

The Pet Portrait Experience includes a 6×8″ matted print with an image of your choice, with no minimum spend. No pressure is placed on you to spend more than you are able – we are happy to work within your budget and preferences. We will not be actively deleting the images from your Studio Photography Session and as such will not be employing sales techniques that make you feel uncomfortable.

Fine art prints start at $145. Acrylic desktop art starts at $195. High-quality custom-framed wall prints, canvas, acrylic, and aluminium wall art start at $395.

We also, provide a custom design service should you require something specific – my Studio has all the products on display.

Does your artwork come with a warranty?

Yes. Our artworks use only the highest quality archival media and genuine inks, and we are happy to answer any questions you might have regarding their production.

How long do the products take to arrive once ordered?

The products are custom-made, either in-house or by one of our business partners.

Some of our more complex custom artworks take up to four weeks but generally your order will be ready within 2-3 weeks.

During peak trading periods (ie Christmas) this can be longer – we will always keep you updated on the status of your order and if its delivery is urgent please discuss this with us upfront and will happily accommodate your requirements to the best of our ability.
