Mountain At My Gates | Foals

What is your favourite toy and why?

A cardboard box.  These mysterious objects are the most fascinating and wonderful things.  I just want to get inside them all.

How does it feel to be the most desirable pet on earth?

It’s a good feeling.  If I’m honest – it kinda makes me hungry.

What is the funniest thing you have ever done?

As a kitten, my go-to party trick was fetching the laundry bag from the bathroom and dragging it upstairs to Josh’s bedroom.

Hard work – but always worth it to see the smile on his face.

What is the naughtiest thing you have ever done?

How long have you got?

I once went on a solo holiday for three days.  It was awesome – but I decided to come home when it started to rain.

If you could be anything or anyone in the world who or what would that be and why?

To be honest – I’m pretty happy being to master and commander of my house.  It’s a powerful position – plenty of responsibility and plenty of naps.

Who is your favourite family member and why?

My sister, Frisbee.  She’s my best buddy.  She cleans the bits of my fur that I can’t reach, play fights with me and is warm to curl up with.

If you could be granted three wishes, what they be?

More snacks.  More naps. And one day – I’d love to achieve my lifelong goal of actually capturing a bird.

Who or what inspires you?

Nothing inspires me quite like a belly rub.

If you won lotto, how would you spend the money?

Snacks.  All of the snacks.

What did you last dream about?

I flew on the back of a mighty eagle into a magical kingdom where cardboard boxes (filled with snacks and flightless birds) where everywhere.  It was bliss.

What do you think your human family members dream about?

Honestly – I couldn’t tell you.  He’s a strange creature.  But he makes a great breakfast and is the finest belly scratcher in the game.  Maybe he dreams about the many ways to prepare my mince-meat in the morning.  His culinary skills are exceptional.

If you were to write a reference for your human parents what would it say?

Excellent belly scratcher.  Knows how to wiggle a piece of string so the the string actually seems alive.  Fantastic meal prepper.

Could spend a little less time sleeping and a little more time scratching my belly.

What would your autobiography be called?

The Long Walk to Breakfast.

You’ve just won a Grammy Award. What would you say in your ‘Thank You’ speech?

I wanna thank Frisbee, Josh and the nice man who photographed me for my album cover – he was very kind.

Where is your favourite place to sleep?

Josh sleeps on his belly.  I sleep on Josh’s back.

What’s your favourite thing to do when the rest of the family is asleep?

I’m currently working on my thesis, “The Mystery of the Mirror and who is the Beautiful Cat on the Other Side.”

You’re home alone. What’s the first thing you do?

Sleep.  No, eat.  Then sleep.

You’re a celebrity musician. What’s the name of your next hit single?

“This Belly Ain’t Gonna Scratch Itself.”

Do you have any nicknames?

Too many to list…  but here’s a few:

  • Doodge.
  • Fatty.
  • Bengal Butt.
  • The Brown Hornet.
  • Snoodge.
  • Doodle.
  • Goodge.
  • Flump.
  • Bear.

What did you think of your Tame & Wild Studio experience?

It was perhaps one of the greatest days of my life.  After a traumatic car ride out there – Josh is a horrible driver & I need to constantly tell him where to go – we arrived around lunch time.  The photo man smelled good, he was kind, friendly and really knew how to bring out my most photogenic features.  There were treats, cuddles and I was lavished with attention the entire time.  10/10 – would pose again.  If you’re one the fence about it – just do it…  let the world see your true beauty, personality and cheeky smile.
