Founded in 2017 by award-winning photographer Peter Sharp, Tame & Wild, at its core, is about a love for art and, most importantly, a love for animals.

Renowned for creating unique animal photography and artwork, Peter and the Tame & Wild team have won over 160 national and international photography and business awards in just over four short years. These accolades are primarily due to the incredible connection Peter and the team have with animals, putting them at ease and ensuring humans have a lot of fun too.

Initially specialising in pet portraiture and photography, Tame & Wild has grown to become one of the few studios in the country regularly invited to photograph wildlife. The images from these stunning shoots are sold to raise money and awareness for Tame & Wild's long-standing charity partners - Sydney Cats & Dogs Home, Sydney Wildlife and Wild2Free.

The catalyst for these partnerships was a mission to support people and organisations working to help animals in need. With aligned values and beliefs, the relationships with these not-for-profits are an integral part of Tame & Wild.

Beyond working with clients and charities, Tame & Wild is also frequently hired to shoot commercial campaigns, including for household names such as Virgin, Petbarn, and Amazon. Further evidence for the skills and talents of Peter and his team.

About Peter Sharp

Peter’s passion for photography began at age 13, after receiving a camera from his grandfather.

While Peter always had a flair for photography, it wasn’t until a debilitating spinal condition disrupted his sales and marketing career and encouraged him to pursue photography as a career.

When recovering from surgery, Peter picked up his camera and found a renewed love for the art form, honing his skills as he recovered.

As Peter became more accomplished as a photographer, his subjects evolved too. From initially taking photos as a hobby, he moved to a personal passion - music. Over the years, Peter was fortunate enough to photograph some of the world's most prominent artists, including Bon Iver, Florence and the Machine, The Foo Fighters and many more.

Again steered by his passion, Peter's subjects evolved once more, this time turning the camera on our furry four-legged friends and launching Tame & Wild Studio.

As the Tame & Wild business took off, Peter explored other areas that appealed to him personally and professionally. This included becoming involved in philanthropy and publishing his first book - Lost But Found.

Through his photography, philanthropy, and Lost But Found, Peter has had the privilege of being featured in some of Australia's leading publications, including The Age, Sydney Morning Herald, The Weekend Australian and on Conversations with Richard Fidler.
