Ludwig was in the care of Sydney Wildlife Rescue when we met. He had a serious foot injury after having been hit by a car. Despite the life-changing injury, he is now living his best life on a property in Sydney.
Ludwig is aware of how beautiful he is and, as such, is a very proud extrovert... he loves being the centre of attention 100% of the time. Unfortunately, so much so that he has been in a fair bit of trouble with the law for flashing passers-by.
Ludwig is single and is looking for a life partner… he is hoping to be selected for the next season of The Bachelor.

Calypso was rescued in Kangaroo Valley after being abandoned by his mother during the 2019 bushfires. He went into the care of Sydney Wildlife Rescue and was successfully rehabilitated and released.
His favourite day of the year is Halloween when he gets to dress up as himself.
Calypso is addicted to social media and has more than three million Facebook friends.
Unlike most bats, Calypso prides himself on his personal hygiene. He spends his days grooming himself and playing board games with his mates – his favourite game is strip poker.

George was in the care of Sydney Wildlife Rescue when we
met. As an ASIO employee, his history must remain a secret.
George is one ssssexy snake! His favourite hobby is pole dancing, and in fact, he recently won the State Championship!
George is a player. He loves the ladies and uses his slippery
tongue and seductive moves to lure them to his favourite tree (consensually of course).
George loves people and is passionate about human welfare and the environment.
Despite his lack of hands, he considers himself a green thumb! George’s biggest wish is that people weren’t scared of him… it’s not easy being green!

Kevin was in the care of Sydney Wildlife Rescue when we met. His nickname is ‘Kooky Kev’ because he’s not your average Kookaburra.
Kooky Kev’s hobbies include telling jokes, aerial gymnastics and stalking (both appropriately and inappropriately).
He is the founding member of a four-piece boy band, Birds 2 Men. They are massive in Korea!
His life goal is to one day to perform at the Sydney Comedy Festival.

I met Urchin when he was in the care of Sydney Wildlife Rescue. He was rescued while attempting to cross a road in peak hour traffic.
Despite his prickly and standoffish appearance, Urchin is actually a party animal! On weekends he dons black eyeliner and you can find him in the moshpit at a metal concert. He dreams of one day meeting The Cure and Metallica.
His other dreams include being allowed near hot air balloons, jumping castles and balloons (he is still salty that his parents wouldn’t let him have these at his birthday parties).
Urchin aspires to be a tattoo artist and has plans to open a tattoo parlour in Sydney, called Quill Ink Studios.

I met Hootie when I took her adoption photos at Sydney Dogs
and Cats Home. Hootie will not discuss her past, except for the fact that she claims to be muse for the band Hootie and the Blowfish.
She loves to keep her nest highly organised and is a huge fan of Marie Kondo (she dreams of meeting her one day). In order to afford her storage addiction, Hootie sells beak photos on OnlyFans and has an ASMR channel on Youtube.
Hootie’s plans for the future include opening a specialised Fish and Chip Shop on Bondi Beach, selling only to birds.

I met Coco when she was in the care of Sydney Wildlife Rescue. She is a cheeky swamp wallaby who loves telling dirty jokes and pulling pranks on her mates.
She’s also a beer enthusiast and has her own microbrewery in her garage. One day she hopes to open her own pub called ‘Hop-’along’ Hotel.
Coco loves sport and is an avid high jumper. She used to support the Wallabies but they’ve been crap for quite some time now, so now she is a crazy Sydney Swans supporter.

Sunny lives in the Daintree Rainforest. I met her when she had finished building this beautiful nest.
As you can see from her work, Sunny is a highly skilled and sought-after architect! She regularly has more than seven different projects on the go at one time and has won more than 40 awards for the intricate and aesthetically pleasing nests she has built throughout her life.
Sunny has 134 grandchildren, which means she doesn’t have much spare time, but in what little time she has, she spends it observing and documenting the behaviour of humans within the Daintree.
Sunny has been planning her retirement and is looking forward to spending her days sleeping, reading and sunbaking.

I met Ben when he was in the care of Sydney Wildlife Rescue.
He dreams of competing in race walking at the Paris Olympics in 2024.
Ben has been campaigning for motor vehicles to be banned in Australia. He thinks humans are all lazy and we should walk instead of drive. He doesn’t understand why we all need to rush around!
Ben aspires to have a human as a pet. Having observed human behaviour, he’s very confused as to why most people aren’t kept on a leash, to save them from themselves!
Ben’s life motto is “Eats, Roots, Shoots and Leaves”. He’s been saving to get this tattooed on his butt.

I met Harry when he was in the care of Sydney Wildlife Rescue. He was found on the side of the road in Campbelltown after his mother was hit by a car.
He prefers to be referred to as Prince Harry and is annoyed that the current “royal” Harry is giving him a bad name. As an only child, he is not a spare.
Harry dreams of running for politics and wants to start his own party. His platform and priorities include focusing on Indigenous land rights, advocating for stronger animal protection laws, promoting responsible pet ownership, and inspiring young children to become supporters of the environment.

Gary is a very flirty Scaly-breasted Lorikeet. I met him at Sydney Dogs and Cats Home when I was there taking adoption photos. He wolf-whistled at me, and so began our lifelong friendship. He convinced me to employ him as Tame & Wild’s Chief Customer Satisfaction Officer… a job he takes very seriously.
He loves to sing along to music and is obsessed with female vocalists, particularly Meg Mac, Florence and the Machine and Montaigne.
His favourite pastime is to create beautiful artwork (his words, not mine) out of poo and nectar (inspired by Pro Hart) on the floor in front of his bedroom.
Gary’s party tricks include laying eggs, laughing at the reaction he gets when he nibbles the webbing between human fingers, and dancing while hanging upside down.

Palomine is a South Eastern, red-tailed black cockatoo. I met him when he came in for a photoshoot for a pet portrait experience.
Palomine’s pet human was a chef, which is ironic because he was as loud, obnoxious and belligerent as Gordon Ramsey. Despite his loud exterior, Palomine is a softie at heart, which is why he spends his time campaigning for women’s rights.
As a side hustle, Palomine is a qualified Courtship Coach.
He teaches other birds how to find a mate by harnessing skills such as crest and wing display, aerial acrobatics and feather plumage.

Amelia is a professional “Peace Ambassador”, demonstrating a unique ability to navigate the complexities of aquatic social structures. She works tirelessly to ensure that all members of an aquatic community feel heard and respected, using her innate understanding of boundaries and personal space to guide her mediation efforts.
She had a very wild childhood and got caught up in the wrong crowd at school, which led to a drug addiction. She has been in recovery for more than a year now but still suffers from some mild memory loss as a result.
Her hobbies include bubble art and aquatic gardening. She is a talented Synchronised Swimmer, so much so that she won Gold at the Thailand Olympics in 2022.

I met Penelope when she was in the care of Sydney Wildlife Rescue. She was studying hard to become a Fitness Trainer and Motivational Coach. She is really proud to have opened her own business, ‘Bound to Succeed Fitness & Wellness’.
She has used her positive attitude and boundless energy to create a business that is a safe space for all animals so that they feel empowered to take on new challenges and embrace a healthier lifestyle.
Penelope loves exploring the bush, listening to ‘Fred Again’ on repeat. During these explorations, she organises impromptu races and challenges with the unsuspecting participants she meets along the way. Wombats, wallabies, snakes, birds and echidnas regularly compete with her.
Penelope, ever the motivator, manages to turn these encounters into lively, laughter-filled events, where the only real competition is to see who can have the most fun.

"Our experience with Peter from Tame & Wild was incredible. As a business owner myself, I appreciate all of the extra attention to detail. It was above and beyond any other business I have ever experienced. We felt so spoilt and cared for & it was genuine. Peter made both of us feel comfortable and like we were old friends. And it was bloody fun, too!
Peter was incredibly patient and didn't rush anything or force our fur babe Bodhi to do anything she didn't want to do. He reassured Bodhi and made sure she was feeling safe and happy. She loves Peter, and now they are besties. We even had a 2nd shoot done with Bodhi's best friend.
We now have these truly incredible forever photos of our girl Bodhi. My only wish is that I had known Tame & Wild existed so that I could have done this with my senior fur babe before she departed.
You have come across this for a reason; just do it!"

Peter is a photographic artist based in the Blue Mountains, Sydney, Australia.
With a long-standing love of photography, music and animals, Peter found his niche specialising in the photography of pets and wildlife. In February 2017, he opened Tame & Wild Studio.
In the space of under four years Peter received more than 160 photographic and business awards for his work.
Pet parents bring their animals to the Studio where Peter creates bespoke artwork capturing the personality of their pet. Clients of Peter’s also include businesses looking to incorporate animals in their advertising campaigns.
To remain grounded and focused on his purpose, Peter continually works on personal projects, with each having specific themes and meanings. These projects often link closely with Peter’s philanthropic endeavours.
He is an Ambassador and volunteer photographer for Sydney Dogs & Cats Home. From 2019 to 2023 he served as President of the Board of Directors of Sydney Dogs and Cats Home and led the organisation to secure $12million in funding from the NSW State Government to secure the Homes future. He is also a volunteer photographer for Sydney Wildlife and Wild2Free Kangaroo Sanctuary.
Philanthropy and the desire to give back is an important part of who Peter is and why he does what he does. For this reason, part proceeds from all sales at the ANIMA exhibition are being donated to the above three amazing organisations.
